My goal as the CEO of Acadekids Preschool is to provide you and your child with the best first educational experience. At Acadekids Preschool, we immerse children in an environment that is purposeful and productive, encouraging them to take the incremental spiritual, social, physical, and academic developmental steps that will ensure success and confidence throughout their lives. Our Staff
We believe that the success of our program is in the dedication of our teaching staff. Our teachers have the ability to plan developmentally age appropriate activities to meet children’s unique abilities and competencies with materials and experiences that get the children involved in their own learning. We support our teachers with training, resources, and the freedom to create an exceptional learning experience for children. We provide many opportunities for teachers to share ideas and grow professionally. Our teachers create a caring and nurturing atmosphere that fosters each child's individual needs.
Our Facility
Acadekids Preschool focuses on learning through play and offers an emergent curriculum that builds on the interests of the children. Acadekids Preschool is a state of the art, fully licensed and equipped facility. Acadekids Preschool has been carefully designed following the High Scope curriculum guidelines. Our classrooms are divided into well-defined interest areas that include art area, toy area, dramatic area and other areas that reflect the children's interests. We follow a predictable daily routine that include plan-do-review, small and large group times, outside times, transition times and eating and resting times to contribute towards your child's adaptation process. The welfare of our children is our first priority and as such, all of our staff is trained in CPR and First Aid to ensure each child's safety. At Acadekids Preschool, staff is encouraged to continue their professional development to maintain the highest standard of education for the children in our program. We offer a program with a variety of developmentally appropriate activities that will help prepare your child for a lifetime of learning. At Acadekids Preschool your child will be in an atmosphere where they can make friendships, learn to share and cooperate. We focus on the development of self-control, confidence and problem solving skills as well as enhance their ever increasing intellectual, social, emotional, physical and language skills. Parents are provided with the opportunity to see their child interact with other children via a secure Internet based camera; parents are provided with a user name and password to view their child’s daily environment through our Web-cam system. You may also call our school at any time for more information but we strongly encourage and recommend parents to schedule a tour of the school; this will provide you with the opportunity to meet the School Director, see the classrooms and meet your child's future teacher.
Our Programs
Acadekids Preschool accepts children regardless of religion, ethnicity or financial background (subsidies welcome). We offer care for Infants, Pre-Toddlers, Toddlers, Preschool and Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten Programs (VPK). We are open year round from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm offering part-time or full time and summer camp programs.
Our Curriculum
The High Scope Curriculum emphasizes active participatory learning. Active learning means students have direct, hands-on experiences with people, objects, events, and ideas. Children's interests and choices are at the heart of the High Scope programs. They construct their own knowledge through interactions with the world and the people around them. Every child has their own rhythm and sense of time and we consider this when we plan our daily structured educational activities. Our teachers use The High Scope Curriculum to help the children develop the skills needed for academic success and to reach their full potential. We recognize that parents are their child's first teachers. Children cultivate an appreciation for learning when parents are involved. By doing so, parents have perspectives of their children and can provide teachers with valuable information, helping teachers to design activities to better meet children’s needs. In addition, parent involvement at home and in school promotes better student achievement. We invite all parents to get involved and begin a habit of participation in their child's daily routine and completion of homework and projects.
